For almost a decade, I’ve been sending out an annual new year’s postcard. For me, this card serves three purposes: reflection, intention, and connection. The front is inspired by my intention for the upcoming year, and the back is a letter to my community. Past designs have included quotes and images, infographics, illustrations, fables, collages, hand sketches, and—my personal favorite—a paper doll that folded into a 3-D model. My family has a long tradition of sending letters; this is my way of keeping our history alive.
